Day 4 began with the girls being ready before the boys for a change. We all met for devotions and Mr. Kaiyo read from 1 John 1 v 5-12 which Amber read very nicely. This was wonderful to hear as the students learnt more about walking in the light - which was very much in line with what the students would be seeing in a few hours with the Sun.
Breakfast was eaten heartily, morning 4 square fitted in, and then it was time to head for the main terrace to finally see the sun through a powerful telescope fitted with a filter to protect ones eyes from being damaged. Many saw the one big sun spot as well as the flares that were coming off the perimeter of the sun. It was amazing!
Up on the terrace.

Waiting patiently to see the sun.

We can't wait for our turn.

Mrs. Banor trying and trying to see the sun.

Still trying.... where is it???

Finn trying to see the sea.

Wayne - The Sun Observer.

More or rather less than what you would see.

Almost what one would see with the special lens and filter.

Finding time for some fun.

Back in the classroom, the students were then taught all about the moon and how eclipses happen, all the phases of the moon as well as practically show it on the equipment.
Time to play in a 5 min break - the boys way.

Relaxing - the girls way.

Iza Grace getting stuck into her work.

Claudie showing the students the way a moon eclipse happens.

Amber having a go at explaining the phase of the full moon.

Geneta adding some colour.

Not long and it was 12 noon and time for lunch! Bean and onion salad with baguette, then fish and rice with beans. Trays of grapes for dessert and then a much needed 20 minute rest!
This tray was not going away empty!
