After lunch time there was a short rest before returning to the classroom for another session. The sunny day disappeared and the most amazing fog drifted in until the whole area was blanketed in it. The students were amazed. Before long 2 hours had gone and it was time for snacks. We were given a strange greeeeeen juice to drink. Without knowing what it was at first, there were comments such as: Its like tooth paste. Noooo, its like mouth wash! No way, it's like Panado medicine for sure. Well it turns out that it was Mint juice and Iza Grace was a huge fan.

Gaining even more.

Green juice time.

Although the kids wanted to play soccer again, it was decided that it would be so good to hike up the mountain path into the mountains behind us. Never done before by past students, it would be fun to discover what it had to offer. We were not disappointed! It was beautiful! Pines as tall as buildings in fern covered ground rose up to greet us. With the fog covering everything, it added to the wondrous effect. Wild strawberries and guavas were devoured after Mrs. Banor pointed them out to us and although it was not the easiest hike up, everyone had a lovely time exploring the forest.
Out the gate and going to the forest.

Going through the mist.

Of course there had to be time for more soccer and although the fog was so very thick, we had another great time playing until the showers could not be put off any longer.
Supper was delicious cheese pies for starters, then pork and rice, and then finally swiss roll for dessert. Nothing was left this time round.
What an amazing starter.

It's all mine!!

Lastly, a night in the classroom with lots of cutting and pinning, and the map of stars was all in place and one that the students can keep to remember how to study the night skies even from Mauritius!
